OPI by Gwen Stefani.

Sorry I’m not home right now, I’m
walking in the spiderwebs painting my nails LIKE GWEN STEFANI (so leave a message and I’ll call you back). ICYMI, OPI just announced that Stefani will be the latest celebrity to collaborate on a nail polish collection with the star-savvy brand and TBH, this makes ALL the sense. Gwen is no doubt (heh) a major style icon (the hair, the lipstick, the abs), and this is the ~perfect~ addition to her ever-growing fashion empire, which already includes her L.A.M.B clothing/accessories line and her Harajuku Lovers perfumes.
The 7-piece polish range is said to reflect the 2013 Met Gala theme, Punk: Chaos to Couture, and draws inspiration from “the role of music as a major influence in fashion.” Could we get this on our feverishly-typing fingers any faster? (Also, DUH re: Gwen being the obvious/most perfect choice to represent this new, edgy collection.) There’ll be mattes and glossies and glitters (OH MY!), and names will include Hey Baby, I Sing In Color, Love.Angel.Music.Baby, 4 In The Morning, In True Stefani Fashion and Push & Shove. The line’s signature shade, Over & Over A-Gwen (LOL, OPI) will also be available in a super-spesh box set which will come with fun things like Swarovski black crystals and silver, gold and pewter studs, so your nail game can resemble the hardware-heavy belts that the No Doubt frontwoman (and maybe expectant mother?) used to wear on the reg to hold up her low-hanging pants.
The line is scheduled to hit shelves in January 2014, which makes it the BEST possible fall-back in the tragic event that that Mariah Carey holiday collection we’ve been hoping for doesn’t actually materialize. (And a New Year’s bonus if it does!)
