We’ve seen Demi Lovato do a lot of things with her hair (remember when she dyed it blue on Wednesday? #memories), but this is the first time we’ve ever seen her –or any star, for that matter—rock a braided silk scarf as like, the tail of an actual braid. How do you even do that?! Tutorial, plz. For her second Teen Vogue cover, the singer/actress/X Factor Judge/Glee guest star/The New Black nail polish collaborator (whew! *wipes brow*) traded her rock-star style for a more relaxed, city-girl-in-the-country look, pairing a low-cut red top with a charcoal wide-brimmed felt fedora and a stunning emerald and gold necklace.

Lovato describes her personal style as “edgy, chic and a lot of leather,” and has everything from Topshop to Saint Laurent to Alexander McQueen hanging in her closet. Inside the mag, she practices the high-low style that she preaches, wearing a burgundy cardigan from American Apparel, a grey spaghetti strap Louis Vuitton dress and a gem-embellished belt from J.Crew. Oh. And those jewels? Yeah, let’s talk about the jewels. Lovato accessorized the look with a Lulu Frost necklace, a Cartier bracelet and Tiffany & Co. ring. NBD #BALLER. Is anyone else getting an Eva Mendes vibe here? I think it’s the silk head scarves. And now I must have ALL the silk scarves.
