Fashion Week has turned into Fashion Three Weeks for Iggy Azalea. After sitting front row at a number of New York Fashion Week shows and performing at DKNY's 25th Anniversary Party, Iggy has surfaced in Milan and, oh, on Philipp Plein's runway. Plein's website describes Iggy as the ideal woman, "poised between haute couture tailoring and a mood that is unashamedly hip hop," so it only makes sense that she kicked-off the show with a live performance of "Work," wearing a short, structured, and slit-bearing dress. Iggy ditched her recently debuted pin-up style bangs for a sleek and tight bun and kept her makeup au naturel.
Plein's show wasn't the only Fashion Week show to feature a live performance—Janelle Monae at Rebecca Minkoff, hello!—but it was first show this year, in any city, to exclusively feature black models (Philip Treacy did it in 2012). Plein's Spring 2014 collection consisted of white, black, metallic pink and blue in various designs, including studded leather jackets, pleated skirts, and lacy gowns. The day after the show, Plein posted a pic to his Instagram with Iggy (and a baby) captioned, "After the show ... The campaign! Shooting day with Iggy Azalea." So, looks like Iggy's performance wasn't merely for entertainment, but to introduce her status as part of Plein's latest campaign? We'll keep our eyes out for any developments because this kind of partnership is one you (and we!) def don't wanna miss.
