Miley Cyrus on the red carpet at the 2013 VMAs.
It’s been interesting to watch Miley Cyrus’ fashion evolution for the past few months, and right now is a crucial moment for her, as she establishes herself as an adult and explores different paths in her style since she’s been trying to align herself with hip-hop. And we think we see where she’s going with this: vintage, vintage, vintage. Earlier today, she dropped the cover for her new album, Bangerz, styled like an old-school Teena Marie album in a vintage Saint Laurent (then YSL) jacket.
Her red carpet look continues with the classy throwback vibes, with a jewel-encrusted archival piece from early ’90s Dolce & Gabbana, and baby twists in her hair reminiscent of a little bit later in the decade (inspired by the Spice Girls, she told MTV behind the scenes yesterday, but giving us a little Gwen Stefani, as well). It’s a great fit for her lithe bod, and we love seeing her in sophisticated garments that still invokes the streetwear she’s been keen on as of late.
