Get A Behind-The-Scenes Look As Fifth Harmony Shops For VMA Red Carpet Looks

Fifth HarmonyX-Factor finalists and all-around stylish ladies–are heading to the VMAs this Sunday, but, alas, they have nothing to wear! The five girls—Camila, Ally, Normani, Lauren, and Dinah–graciously allowed MTV to tag along as they went shopping at Dalaga in Brooklyn for their VMA Red Carpet looks and, we must say, we are pretty psyched to see what they end up wearing.

Since it’s their first VMAs, they wanna go “all out,” a decision we highly respect. When else are you gonna be rubbing elbows with Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, and Macklemore? For me, like every Wednesday, but for most people, not that frequently! You betta go all out. The discussions then switch to what kind of general look they’re going to go for, and the consensus seems to be, “fancy, but not too shmancy,” and something that they’d normally wear, just spruced up. Once again, we entirely support the sartorial direction these ladies are heading in.

After looking at the racks and discussing all the celebz they’ll be schmoozing with, the girls hit the dressing rooms and we get a sneak peek at what each member may sport on the red carpet. Ally shows off a geometric-patterned bustier and leather mini-skirt, Lauren considers a black-and-blue striped, sleeveless turtleneck with a long, black skirt, and Dinah looks at a white, lace bustier (very Madonna at the first VMAs) and printed, wide-leg pants. The other two girls, Normani and Camila, try on their picks and, obviously, they look ah-mazing. Camila, forging a path into non-skirt territory, has on floral-printed shorts and a white lace croptop with a bow at the neck, which is totally fitting since, during The X-Factor, hair bows quickly emerged as Camila’s signature style. Finally, Normani, lookin’ the most glam of the group comes of of the dressing room sporting a matching black skirt and black peplum croptop—each with gold metallic accents. It looks SO GOOD: perfect combo of fancy and spruced up, without being, like, a ballgown.

In the end, it seems like they have way too many choices, but it’s clear: whatever these ladiez decide to wear, they’re undoubtedly going to look fresh. If you want to see more of Fifth Harmony preparing for their first VMAs, you can tune into the VMA All-Access Livestream tonight at 7 PM and watch as they give us more insight into their VMA Red Carpet fashion and hopes for the VMAs!
