It's no secret that Selena Gomez has ah-mazing hair. It's long, it's shiny, it can be wavy or straight, it looks sleek both up and down, and we are jealz. Selly, as we know, just kicked off her months-long Stars Dance Tour in Canada and is trying out a new 'do. No, it's not the Rihanna mullet-rattail hyrbid, nor the Beyonce a-line bob: instead of making a drastic chop, Selena has incorporated cornrows into her look. Taking a page out of the ol'James Franco in Spring Breakers book, eh, Selz?
SpringSumma Break forevaaa. She debuted the new style last week and is obv a huge fan: she's sported them at performances, meet-and-greets, and most recently, during a quick trip to New York.

Considering the current temperature in NYC—very, very hot—it's no wonder Selena kept the braids in and threw her hair up in a ponytail. In performances she's kept her hair down with the plaits on top, but when she's straight chilling, her hair is up, and we feel her. She wore them with a multi-print romper with studded black sandals and a black-and-white Michael Kors bag. The open back of the romper is prob keeping her cool, but the coolest part (literally) of her look is def the cornrows.
Sooo, how much longer do you think Selena will keep the braids in or is her next move a drastic change à la Bey and Rih? Will she inspire legions of ladies to rock cornrows for the rest of the summer? Braids are errywhere this summer, so maybe the fall will be full of cornrows? We'll keep ya updated.
