Scarlett Johansson Or Katy Perry: Who Wore Dolce & Gabbana’s Joan of Arc Dress Best?

Good old Stefano and Domenico (Dolce & Gabbana for those of you not on a first-name basis) are causing some hubbub again. It seems the Italian duo has been stirring up the drama a LOT lately—y’know, with the tax evasion and alleged racism and all. *GULP* Still, no one can quite deny the total awesomeness of their Fall/Winter 2013 collection, especially ever since Katy Perry showed up looking like Queen Guinevere’s hot goth sister at this year’s Met Gala. But just when you thought it was smooth sailing on the Adriatic, D&G are now the face of a scintillating Scarlett Johansson vs. Katy Perry “who wore it best” battle!

Yes, ScarJo is wearing the very same Joan of Arc dress on the new September issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia. But honestly, her soft look is so drastically different than Katy’s was, I don’t think either gal will be polishing off her dueling pistol anytime soon. Back in May, Katy went all out with huge cross earrings, gold nails, and a CROWN for crying out loud. The theme was punk, and our girl didn’t disappoint. That theme most certainly doesn’t apply to Scarlett’s downright angelic cover.

Johansson’s nails are pink, her face is fresh and rosy, and (hellllo?) her windblown hair makes it look like she is descending down from heaven as we speak. Plus, the out of control beadwork on the dress in question can be seen in much more detail under the bright lights of Karl Lagerfeld’s flashbulbs. It makes the dress look much less punk and much more ethereal, don’t you think? Maybe Katy was channeling Joan of Arc’s hardXcore warrior phase while Scarlett is going for the post-death martyrdom phase. Either way, they both do this gorgeous dress justice, and Dolce and Gabbana are probably shaking with excitement in their calfskin boots.

What do y’all think: Did one of these ladies rock the D&G dress better, or should we call this one a draw?
