Beyonce's Makeup Artist Reveals Beauty Inspiration For 'Mrs. Carter Show'

Beyonce's Mrs. Carter makeup.

Have you stared at the sketches of Beyonce's Mrs. Carter Show tour wardrobe a thousand times? Memorized the placement of every sequin and chiffon ruffle? Written strongly worded letters to Stuart Weitzman that it's about time they start carrying her stage heels and booties in stores? Well, now you have yet another style-related avenue to Stan out about King Bey's international tour: beauty. Thanks to makeup artist Sir John who's traveling and pretty-making in the name of Mrs. Carter, we're that much closer to maybe someday unlocking the secrets to Beyonce's consummate gorgeousness.

"For the Mrs. Carter Tour, I drew beauty inspiration from Beyonce's on personal start quality being in the stratosphere," Sir John is quoted on "There's a certain celestial radiance Beyonce emanates on stage that I wanted to amplify." Along with deep purples and galaxies, the digital beauty mood board includes images of young starlettes and icons like Sophia Loren or Twiggy whose signature peepers are superimposed on a night sky. "So in choosing colors and textures for makeup, my concentration focused on a balance of reflecting and absorbing light," Sir John adds. It's evident that the aim for the looks was a kind of intersection of mod '60s beauty meets the cosmos. Check out the full inspiration board for yourself at!
