Veronica Mars, y’all.

Guys, we just can’t get enough of the new Veronica Mars movie. On Friday, we watched the cast troll Comic-Con with their “Team Piz” and “Team Logan” tees, and before that, we broke down every single outfit Ms. Mars (Kristen Bell) has worn so far on set and got ALL the deets on the return of her infamous studded bag. But then, we were hit with the motherlode this weekend—the first look at ACTUAL, LIVING BREATHING FOOTAGE from the upcoming film! In it, we get to peep even MORE VM outfits, and (in-between totally spazzing out at this movie actually being a real thing) we noticed a serious theme happening in all her clothing: leather.

So far, VMM costume designer Genevieve Tyrrell has styled Veronica in a plethora of leather-accented looks. She’s sported everything from a leather-sleeve Mackage trench coat to a cropped Helmut Lang jacket to a light gray leather Vince number. In the new footage, we peep Veronica in another ensemble—this time a black Sandro tunic with, you guessed it, a leather-look fabric panel. (If you have $190 to drop, you can swipe up this bad boy right now!) So, what’s up with all the leathery stuff? Genevieve said the “VM jackets were chosen as either a synthesis of what V wore back in her Neptune days combined with her New York sophistication. She still maintains a ’bad-ass’ edge that I feel is conveyed in the mix of fabrications.” Ahhhh, now it’s all starting to make sense! To check out Veronica’s outfits in action, be sure to watch the sneak peek below.
