Remember when one of our House of Style sweethearts, the lovely, always-smiley Karlie Kloss, was spotted traipsing around Midtown Manhattan with Daft Punk? On top of it just being an eye-bugging collision of greats, there was heated speculation as to whether Miss Kloss might be featured in a new music video from the world's favorite French robots. Welp, turn out, the shoot was actually for a massive editorial spread starring Daft Punk and Karlie in the August issue of Vogue which hits newsstands nationwide tomorrow (July 23) and is available NOW as a digital download for iPad, Kindle Fire, NOOK Color, and NOOK Tablet (pick your tablet poison).

Karlie models the best and brightest eveningwear from next season's ready-to-wear collections with futuristic frizzed out hair and dangling on the arms of the pristinely tailored robots. She checks her lipstick in the back of helmet because if you're wearing jewel-laden Dolce & Gabbana (with Ralph Lauren chandelier earrings no less), you'd better have your beauty game right.

Also, if there's one styling lesson to be learned from this spread, regardless of whether it's gold or chrome, if your date happens to be wearing a helmet, a red dress (like that floral Lanvin number on the right) is a guaranteed complement. Bonus points if you incorporate feathers à la that Escada coat. The copy (in the shoot's online slideshow, at least) pairs Karlie's outfits with potential end-of-summer soirées where you (or someone) could debut the next season duds. They're all very Vogue (italicized for grammar but also, emphasis) and y'know, aspirational with the HIGHLY NOTABLE exception of this suggestion that someone could wear Chloe to Electric Zoo (Uhh.... WHAT??).

The rest are red carpet movie premieres, benefit galas, and gallery openings, a.k.a. a huge departure from our weekend nights which don't include French robots but DO usually end in late-night French fries. Regardless, the spread is beautiful and inspiring and you should totally check it out in this August issue of Vogue (Claire Danes is on the cover!) when it hits newsstands tomorrow. Also, in a way, Karlie really did get to be a video girl with this shoot—the below behind-the-scenes video features DP's "Give Life Back To Music" from Random Access Memories!
