Just when you’ve FINALLY convinced yourself that the next collaboration couldn’t possibly get more exciting than the last, H&M reveals that the international retail giant is teaming up with Isabel Marant. The French designer is probably best known for her boon of a footwear innovation, the sneaker wedge, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg in her fashion arsenal. Marant has a knack for infusing feminine bohemian elements with gritty urban edge and a keen eye for tailoring—the makings of every style savvy tomboy’s dream closet.
“I aim at creating something real—something women want to wear in their everyday lives—with a certain carefree style,” Marant said of the new design venture, “I think this is very Parisian: You dress up, but don’t pay too much attention to it, and you still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be combined following one’s own instincts, and my take on fashion is all about personality.” That perfect storm for effortless edge is exactly what we’re looking forward to from this collaboration, and you better BUH-LIEVE we’re marking our calendars and submitting requests for the days surrounding the collection’s worldwide launch on Thursday, November 14, 2013. P.S. Dudes, you might want to do the same because Marant’s putting together her first-EVER men’s collection, just for you. See you (camped outside your nearest H&M) this fall! I’ll bring the blankets if you bring the portable hot water heater.
