Tonight at the 2013 CMT Music Awards, Taylor Swift went back to her roots. We're not just talking about her Nashville homecoming but her style choices, too! After a long streak of pushing her fashion boundaries, going edgy for the Met Gala and working a striking mini on the Billboard Music Awards red carpet, T.Swizzle has gone back to the tried and true color palette she knows best (red, white, and gold) both on the CMT red carpet and on stage. For her arrival, Swift wore a cream-colored strapless dress from the Elie Saab Spring 2013 RTW collection. Covered in exquisite, sparkling blush beadwork, cut loose and away from the body, and styled with Jimmy Choo shoes, Neil Lane jewelry, a Christian Louboutin clutch and what looks like a faux bob, the ensemble is perfect for a fancy summer soiree. Also, dancing!
Hitting the stage to perform the title track to her latest album "Red", Taylor did a complete 180 from soft and sweet to strong and sultry with this red and black performance outfit. Swift let her hair down (literally!) with a kind of leotard meets gown meets glittery bike shorts look. A shiny black sweetheart neckline and itsy bitsy black shorts make up the base which is then covered by billowing red fabric forming something we here at MTV Style like to call a curtain skirt. Embellished with three black buckles and worn with black half-calf boots, the outfit, with all its movement, still stood out against the predominantly red set, lasers, and crystal-encrusted guitar.
