Listen, we love nail art a lot (maybe too much even), but sometimes even we get blindsided by people's utmost dedication to the mini masterpieces. This past Friday, we were tipped off (heh) to an auction where you could bid on nail art previously worn by Lady Gaga. We saw a pic that featured a killer black and gold stiletto-tipped nail hand painted by Aya Fukuda (a NYC-based nail artist who has been behind some of Gaga's most famous tips) which Mother Monster wore at a Fame fragrance launch and Born This Way Dublin performance last fall. In theory, this is TOTALLY AWESOME. Gags always has the most decked-out sets created by world-renowned nail artists, but when we actually read the description of the bid, we were, well, a wee bit disappointed.

First off, it's one acrylic nail. Let me say that again: One. Nail. As in, you can't wear an entire set of nails previously worn by Lady Gaga, but just one. Also, the description says "the finger nail was recovered from the stage by a crew member after Lady Gaga finished her performance," which, um, kind of creeps us out. Even WEIRDER, you also get a "letter of provenance from the consignor stating how he obtained the item." It reads, "I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum. When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail." O___O Like, isn't that kiiind of the equivalent of selling a strand of Mother Monster's hair that fell off during her performance? IDK, it's totally giving us weird vibes, but, you guys, we haven't even gotten to the craziest part yet—this auction ended up closing at $12,000! YUP. Someone had that much money to drop on ONE already-used nail, which is officially making our heads spin out of control. But what do you think—would you ever pay $12,000 for one of Lady Gaga's acrylic nails? Let us know in the comments below!
