Selena Gomez Or Kelly Rowland: Who Wore Suspenders Best?

Take notes, ladies. Suspenders are trending, and we can thank Selena Gomez and Kelly Rowland for the latest iteration of the look. Just a few days ago, we spotted Miley Cyrus working the flipped colorway of the very same Chanel suspenders Rihanna wore on the cover of Complex. NOW, we're pitting Sel and Kel and their similarly strapped steez (try saying that three times fast!) against each other. Why two suspenders questions in one week? Because rather than using the accessories for their intended function—holding up your pants as a kind of belt substitute—Gomez and Rowland's are purely decorative, slung from their shoulders and dangling around their hips.

Selena hit up MuchMusic headquarters yesterday to co-host New.Music.Live. For her hosting duties, Sel went for a kind of casually tailored look with a flirty sequin embellished Viktor & Rolf crop top and a little bit of business by way of checked wool-blend trousers. Matching strapped sandals, effortless long waves, a pop of bright red lips, and solid black suspenders hanging from her sides finish off the look. What's interesting about Sel's suspenders, though, is that they actually come with the Moschino Cheap & Chic pants and are meant to be worn like this.

The case might not be the same for Kelly Rowland and her 106 & Park visit outfit. Kel showed up at the BET studios to surprise her tour mate The-Dream wearing a suspendered ensemble of her own. Following a similarly monochromatic black and white color palette as Selena, Kelly wore a black bustier corset top with a flurry of rhinestones in the midsection and paired it with roomy, immaculate white trousers. Much like Sel, Kelly went for minimal accessories, opting for a thick gold choker neck cuff and her own set of black suspenders—these ones much skinnier and leather rather than elastic.

Who do you think wore suspenders better: Selena Gomez or Kelly Rowland?
