It’s been almost 24 hours since the Met Gala “Punk: From Chaos To Couture” red carpet began, and we’re still spinning from all the studs and safety pins. We saw a ton of Givenchy, some vintage Valentino, some significant Stella McCartney and then, bursting from between the throngs of these famed designers, we saw five different looks from Topshop. Yep. That’s right—the Topshop that you yourself can afford to shop at. The most surprising part? We couldn’t tell the difference between the high end and the high street.
Topshop, who partnered up with Vogue to create the goods, was behind five of our favorite looks of the night. Nicole Richie, with her fiercely punk silver hair, looked almost bridal in a gorgeous gown adorned with beads sewn in the shape of flowers and sunbursts. Julianne Hough rocked a tea length strapless dress whose layered tulle was cut short in front to show off her spiked pumps, and Jaime King debuted her recently-announced baby bump in a super sleek black suit with a sheer, high-collared shirt underneath. Model Jourdan Dunn and actress Ashley Madekwe, both Brit-born babes, repped their home country’s favorite high-street shop in floor length sparkling gowns that totally complemented each other on the carpet. The coolest part of this all? Topshop announced that they’re going to be selling all five of these ‘fits in stores and online come September. Met Gala glamor for the masses! Apparently they’re going to range from $630 to $1050 which, yeah, we know, seems pretty steep for Topshop, but how often will you get the chance to own a dress worn by one of your favorite stars on the Met Gala red carpet? We’re going to guess once in a lifetime. What do you think? Is it worth the splurge? Tell us your answer, and which of the five Topshop looks is your favorite, in the comments below!
