Incredible live performer, singer, frontwoman… and jewelry designer? Is there anything Metric’s Emily Haines can’t do? We’ve long been fans of the singer’s on and off-stage style, so when we heard that she was getting into the jewelry collaboration game, we can’t say we were totally surprised. However, Haines’ collaboration with Fleet Jewelry ain’t your ordinary celeb capsule collection. MTV Hive caught up with the singer to get the low-down on the bullet-shaped pen necklace that Haines created, which benefits HearMe, an organization that provides music education and computer software to orphans and isolated children around the globe. The PENdant ($120.00) took Fleet Jewelry founder Kate Power’s vision and one of Haines’ lyrics, “believe in the power of songs,” and combined the two to create a powerful piece of jewelry that’s as wearable as it is meaningful.

So does this mean that there’s more designing in the works for Haines? “It feels as though I just stay open to things and they come,” Haines told Hive. So is that a yes? She went on to say that she has discussed designing with a number of friends and would certainly be interested in it, but it sounds to us like there’s nothing in the works just yet. We certainly hope she doesn’t stop here, though. We want more Emily Haines!
