Rita Ora Is Anything But Mousy In Couture On ‘Elle’ Women In Music Covers

Earlier this month, we showed you one of the interior shots of Rita Ora’s Elle Women In Music issue spread, where she broke from the theme set by Adele’s soft and sultry cover in a futuristic Maison Martin Margiela couture dress and black headpiece. Well, today we got our greedy Rita Ora-loving paws on not just one but TWO of the singer’s covers, and they are amazing beyond our wildest dreams. The first cover, which is in color, features Rita looking like a bubblegum queen in a pale pink Chanel Haute Couture gown and matching Ken O’Rourke headpiece, her red lipstick and dark, strong brows making quite a statement (and are giving us serious beauty inspiration) against the stark gray background. Although her first cover is undoubtedly high, high fashion—you don’t get much higher than Chanel, after all—there’s a playfulness that we just can’t help but note in the interplay between the ruffles across the neckline of the dress and the exaggerated, peony-shaped headpiece. We’ve also been following Ms. Rita for long enough to know that she’s both playful and a risk-taker, so a stuffy cover just isn’t in her nature.

Turns out our instincts were totally correct, and Rita took the playful route for her second, black and white Elle cover. Rita pouts petulantly with her chin in her hands in a Philip Treacy headpiece and Calvin Klein bustier, channeling our favorite cartoon mouse, who we’ve never seen look so glum. Despite her totally “over it” expression, we love that Rita and Elle went with such an atypical cover.

In the interior of the mag Rita keeps on wowing us with challenging styling, posing on a ladder in an incredible white and lilac Valentino Haute Couture gown and Heather Huey headband. We love how her placement diagonally across the shot allows us to see the lines of the dress, which is almost bell-shaped with a tapered skirt and a flare at the ankles, but we would LOVE to be able to see the front of the dress. This is one we’ll be storing in our mental vault, ready to jump on if it appears on a red carpet anytime soon.

Holy cotton candy, Rita! We knew there was something edgy about the almost-maribou trim on Rita’s Chanel Haute Couture cover look, but we were NOT expecting THIS. The gown features a corseted waist and lush, layered skirt, short in the front but cascading down to a beyond-floor-length train behind her. If that’s not enough to make you swoon, she is also wearing a pair of peep-toe over-the-knee boots in what looks like an exotic skin. AH-MAY-ZING.

For her final look of these latest photos, Rita wears an incredible bell-shaped Dior Haute Couture dress with floral embroidery throughout, matching floral and netting gloves, and a, shall we say, fruity headpiece. She looks positively floral, eyes closed and red lips gleaming.
