Oscars 2013 Beauty: Get The Looks From Jennifer Lawrence, Amanda Seyfried And More!

The movies! The dresses! The makeup! The hair! Oh my god, isn’t awards season over already!? The Oscars is the grand finale of award shows and I can’t even imagine how sick everyone is of putting on Spanx and walking in 6 inch heels. It must be very difficult to put on couture Dior and have your makeup done, so thank you, ladies of Hollywood, for rallying on last night!

Here are some of my favorite beauty looks from the Oscars, and how to get the key aspects of those looks.

Choosing a colorful eye makeup is super risky for an event like the Oscars; Amanda Seyfried’s lavender shadow is an example of how it works! It looks especially beautiful with her bright blue eyes. The trick to wearing colorful eye makeup is to keep everything else on the face light. In other words, don’t do this with red lips, you’ll look like a clown! To get Amanda’s shadow try NARS 413 BLKR Duo.

1. Use a light shimmery shade over the entire lid.
2. Apply the dark shade in NARS 413BLKR Duo lightly along the lash line of the outer corners of the eyes.
3. Apply the light purple shade into the crease and into dramatic wings.
4. Apply the light purple shade lightly under the bottom lashes as a drop shadow.

Finding the perfect pink gloss is hard to do, but Jennifer Lawrence did it! Well technically, her makeup artist did, but let’s not split hairs. Lawrence’s Dior Couture dress was absolutely incredible, pairing it with minimal hair and makeup was the right choice. I couldn’t help but notice how perfect her lip color was; natural, but still with a little bit of color and a lot of shine. To get perfect pink lips try LipSurgence Lip Luster Tint by Tarte Cosmetics.

Kerry Washington has looked amazing this entire awards season. Her Oscar look was pretty minimal, but she’s such a beautiful woman, it doesn’t take much to make her look good. What I loved most about Washington’s makeup was her perfectly flushed cheeks. It’s so easy to go overboard with blush and sculpting, but this look was amazing natural. To get Washington’s perfect cheeks, try NARS Orgasm blush.

Jennifer Aniston is known for her simple, no fuss, hair on the red carpet. Tonight was no different, as she paired her stunning red Valentino gown with a perfect blow out. Follow these steps to get Jen’s enviable hair.

1. Divide your hair into 6 sections: two sections for the top of your head, one section on either side around the ear, and two sections for the back of the head.
2. Blow dry your hair using a round brush, like the Moroccan Oil brush, starting with the back sections and working your way up the head one section at a time.
3. Finish with a light mist of flexible hairspray.

One of the best updo’s of the night was Amy Adams’ 60’s chignon. We’ve been seeing more and more women wearing their hair down this awards season, so it’s nice to see a true, old-school updo. This one is a bit complicated, so let’s get right into it. To get this 60’s ’do follow these steps.

1. Part your hair in the middle and section out the front of your hair, from right in front of the ears, to the hairline.
2. Tease the crown of your hair using A LOT of hairspray and then smooth the top layer to create the bump.
3. Pull your hair into a low bun, leaving the front sections out.
4. After you make your bun, then you can add the front sections in, pulling some pieces out to get the loose look.
