Nail Art Superlatives: The Best, Boldest, And Most Outrageous Manis From New York Fashion Week

Whew, New York Fashion Week is officially over, y’all—BUT that doesn’t mean we’re done dishin’ on all the killer fashion and beauty looks we peeped on the runway and backstage! If you’ve been following us on Instagram (WHICH YOU SHOULD!), you might’ve been tipped off to all the cool nail art happening this year. From 3D studs to super intricate artwork, the runway certainly wasn’t short of models sporting decked-out digits. So, we decided to compile all the best, boldest, and most outrageous nail art from NYFW so you can catch up on all the manis you might’ve missed. Let’s get to it!

MOST LIKELY TO HAVE THE MOST INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS: ASSEMBLY

Assembly New York was all about mixing work and play in their fall 2013 collection, but when we peeped the nails and realized they were Emojis, we basically lost our shiz. Miss Pop created these bright yellow stunners using the oh-so-famous iPhone Japanese icons as inspiration, and we LOVE. IT. *double taps photo*

BEST USE OF JACK NICHOLSON’S FACE: THE BLONDS

Earlier today we dove WAY deep into the old Hollywood horror nails from The Blonds show, but our absolute favorite set had to be the one’s from The Shining. Like, the only thing creepier than Jack Nicholson’s face peering through a door is Jack Nicholson’s face peering through a door on every single one of your nails.

MOST LIKELY TO END UP IN MOMA: CREATURES OF THE WIND

The nail art from Creatures of the Wind was so fresh and modern while ALSO being totally intricate and awe-inspiring. These are truly mini masterpieces, which is why we think they should be hanging on the walls at the Museum of Modern Art.

MOST LIKELY TO SET OFF A METAL DETECTOR: DKNY

We’ll just say this: The nails at DKNY could easily double as weapons. I mean, all those pointy 3D studs could seriously put an eye out! But let’s get real—with all the studs, rhinestones, chains, and glitter on there, these bad boys are BOUND to set off some metal detectors. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

BEST USE OF MISCELLANEOUS CRAFT SUPPLIES: LIBERTINE

OK, we mean this in the nicest way possible, but doesn’t this Libertine mani remind you of those stick-on earrings from the ’90s? ’Cause we wore those. And we loved them. Also, the hodgepodge of gems, rhinestones and studs gives flashbacks to our arts and crafts days, but executed way, WAY better, obvi.

MOST LIKELY TO MAKE TRINIDAD JAMES JEALOUS: KITHE BREWSTER

The nails from Kithe Brewster were SO iced out with diamonds, gold, and chains that we’re pretty sure it would make even Trinidad James jealous. Enough said.
