Only about 12 hours after Taylor Swift nabbed a Grammy for her Hunger Games track “Safe and Sound” and got the internet talking about her opening performance of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” we have even MORE news about the pop star for you: she’s the new ELLE cover girl! Taylor fronts the magazine’s March issue in a ’60s-inspired dress by Louis Vuitton, looking the every bit the part of a mod style icon with blunt bangs, kohl-rimmed eyes and major lashes. Oh, and while it might SEEM like the frock is sheer underneath the yellow checks, upon further inspection it’s evident that this cocktail dress is lined with a nude slip. We know Taylor’s been branching off into deep-plunge neckline and cutout territory, but we don’t think she would be scandalous enough to pull a Rihanna quiteeee yet. This retro cover look is one of many Tay rocks in the eclectic spread, which covers the style spectrum from punk (pink hair!) to bohemian to classically girly. See more after the jump!

Tay channels a slightly punkier side inside the issue, bringing back that “I Knew You Were Trouble” look with, yep, pale pink hair. This time it’s in a swinging straight ponytail, which she rocks with a mishmatched Proenza Schouler print dress. It’s an unexpected look for the singer, who we rarely see sporting a single print (let alone multiple!) on the red carpet. But maaaaybe it’s a sign of things to come? Fingers crossed! We’re also digging the close-up shot of Taylor on the right, where she’s decked out in a Burberry leather and jersey bomber jacket and doing the natural lip thing with dramatic eye makeup.

Proving just HOW diverse the spread is, Taylor’s playing opposites in these last two looks. She’s rocking Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent collection (that’s the same hat Gwen Stefani wore on VOGUE) paired with black skinnies and an absolutely killer beaded cape. She might be feeling the boho vibes on the left, but she also shows off her feminine side in an all-pink outfit by Oscar de la Renta. From the embroidered top to the high-waisted shorts to the delicate headpiece, this look is girly to the MAX.

The March issue of ELLE hits newsstands on February 19, but get a sneak peek here and tell us what you think!
