If there's one accessory that seems to withstand the test of time, it's the satchel. This crossbody bag (which, fun fact, was the precursor to the backpack!) was originally created to carry tons of books, but today we love it for it's classic, English schoolboy charm and roomy interior. Also, not to brag, but this bag is famous enough to have it's own Wikipedia page, so it has definitely secured its place in the fashion world. But, as always, we love to see our favorite pieces in action, so we scoured the internetz for our favorite satchel-inspired looks, and we think you'll love 'em!
Jessica Tran of Jess Loves Fred
Jessica is a Sydney blogger who has got the whole classic-cool thing down PAT. We love her comfy-yet-put-together schoolgirl-chic look, which includes a vintage printed blouse, thrifted cuffed trousers, a killer gold-accented belt, black oxfords, and plaid satchel. (Psst, cheer up girl! You look great!)
Danielle Payton of Visionary Dreams
San Fransisco-based blogger Danielle always looks straight out of a different decade. She's the master of vintage-inspired ensembles, like this one, which reminds of a chic '70s girl. She wore a Romwe floral blouse, burgundy American Apparel maxi skirt, coral Dolce Vita wedges, a brown belt, and, of course, an amazing brown Dooney & Bourke satchel.
Jennifer Grace of The Native Fox
California girl Jennifer is GORGE blondie with a penchant for super-cool-but-not-too-stuffy ensembles, and, to be totally honest, we're kind of obsessed with her sneaker and skirt style. She wore an American Apparel striped top, seafoam ChicWish skater skirt, black low top Converse, an Urban Outfitters beanie, and a killer Grafea satchel. #WERK
