After months of stalking the on-set pics, tracking the retro costumes, and following the rising star of adorable actress AnnaSophia Robb, The Carrie Diaries FINALLY premiered last night on The CW. What'd you guys think? If you ask us, the show is a complete 1984 fashion whirlwind, filled with style shoutouts (Interview mag!), New York haunts (Indochine!) and even designer cameos (anyone else spy Waris Ahluwalia in the dinner scene?!). We can barely wait until next week's episode, but at least we've got PLENTY to talk about until then, like AnnaSophia's brand new haircut.
The star stepped out yesterday to promote the series sporting a Maggy Frances blouse and a sleek, straight new bob. In other words, pretty much the exact opposite of those Carrie Bradshaw curls she sports on the show! But here's a fun fact: she may have kept her natural hair in the pilot, but AnnaSophia started wearing a wig in episode two in order to save time. As the actress said, "For the pilot they curled all my hair, but it takes about two hours. So for the sake of time, and saving my hair from frying off my scalp, we made a wig. So I have a wig and it's awesome, beautiful and very realistic. The directors can never tell it's a wig, so hopefully that means the audience won't be able to tell." Hmmm.....interesting. Wig or not, AnnaSophia's shorter cut is a definite departure from the long locks she sported in her last flick, Soul Surfer, and we're into it! How about you? Tell us what you think of her new look (and The Carrie Diaries, obviously) in the comments!
