See Our 5 Favorite Looks From The Prabal Gurung For Target Collection

Back in October, we fell head over heels with the first look from Prabal Gurung's collection for Target. The collection, which the designer described as being inspired by "a girl’s journey through the different stages of love and the clothes she wears during each milestone—from the first date to meeting the parents to the engagement," is whimsical and bright, with strong lines and playful accents, and it was a challenge to pick just five favorite pieces. Versatile and wearable, these are pieces that could take you from brightening up your office to as Gurung intended, a first date, with ease. While some of the pieces are a bit too bright to be accurately and honestly called 'practical,' the line's affordable price point, starting at just $12.99, makes it totally ok to have a little bit of fun! So, without further ado, our 5 favorite pieces:

Ok, we're kind of about to cheat with this one, cramming all three pieces in. I mean, how could we not. An all floral crush shorts suit? yes please. The blazer is $49.99 and could totally dress up jeans at work or be paired with a skirt (maybe even in a different pattern? Hello springtime!). Under it, the long sleeve tee is $19.99, and while this might not be one of our favorite pieces on its own, it's a great way to add a pop of floral to an outfit. Finally, THOSE SHORTS. At $26.99, the shorts in floral crush print are very close to the top of our list (although we're not putting this in order on purpose). We could wear them all spring and summer long.

The Nolita Shirtdress.

While we're not totally sure that we could wear this piece as a dress depending on the length, obvs, the Nolita shirtdress is an edgy, ultra-cool break from all of the electric florals throughout the rest of the collection. We particularly love the black accents at the cuffs and on the button placket. This piece certainly doesn't scream Target, and we would gladly shell out more than the $39.99 price tag to have it take us through springtime.

The First Date Dress.

This bright floral is called the 'first date' print, and we would certainly wear this dress on just that. An a-line t-shirt dress, the piece is breezy and cute, while not being too casual. You could accessorize it with a slim, metallic belt, or keep it loose for an easy summer music festival look. Now we're having visions of park picnics and sunshine...mmm, summer. At just $34.99, you can't really go wrong?

The First Date Sweatshirt.

While this would be a look for a very different first date than the dress in the same print, we're loving the First Date sweatshirt, $29.99. With those same black details that we loved on the Nolita shirtdress, this little beauty would be a sporty way to add a little edge to a skater skirt or a pair of shorts, while still staying super comfortable. We love sweatshirts as a spring and summer layering option, and this graphic print throws something different into the mix.

We love a good a-line. Versatile and fun, it's a classic shape that can be dressed up or down, worn with boots for an edgy schoolgirl-gone-bad vibe or with heels for a sweet night out, and Gurung's floral crush print makes this graphic dress a true springtime stunner. The nipped in waist and full skirt make it a little more formal than your everyday, but we still think it could be worn for a fancy party or a sweet Sunday brunch with ease. At just $49.99, this party dress won't break the bank.
