Elle Fanning And Jennifer Lawrence Top Our 2013 Critics' Choice Awards Best Dressed List

Whereas last night's People's Choice Awards ceremony was all about the public opinion, tonight it was time for the critics to weigh in! The Broadcast Film Critics Association may have had final say on the very best that Hollywood had to offer in 2012, but we're taking it upon ourselves to choose the best dressed stars. Fortunately they turned out in droves, with some of our MTV Style faves (Elle and JLaw, we're looking at you!) rocking their predicted red carpet hits as well as newcomers like the adorable Quvenzhane Wallis. The best part is, awards season is only going to get better from here! So get a style sneak peek at our top dressers below, and let us know who made YOUR list in the comments.

Elle Fanning

Fact: Elle can do pretty much no wrong. The younger Fanning sib has proven herself as a full-flung fashion maven, pulling off tough trends like those Prada platform sandals, drawn-on rainbow locks, and even a fuzzy pink hat. At tonight's ceremony she went slightly more classic than usual in a strapless Chanel dress from the label's Spring 2013 collection, adorned with flowers and intricate beading. We're digging her beauty look, too— there aren't many 14-year-olds who rock bright pink eyeliner QUITE as well as this one! Plus, she's topped off with the ensemble with the ultimate accessory: a giant, genuine, and 100% adorable grin.

Yes, we know that Jennifer Lawrence ALSO made our Best Dressed list from last night's People's Choice Awards. But thing is, she totally deserves a second shoutout for her Prabal Gurung gown. Jennifer has always been a fan of the body-hugging silhouette, but her floor-length cut-out frock has leather details and a sheer panel that TRULY set this girl ahead of the pack. We honestly can't wait to Jenn continue her fashion streak throughout the rest of awards season, because if her past two dresses are any indication, it's gonna be good.

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried sported a slightly different take on the tradtional red carpet gown. For one thing, she went BRIGHT in a royal blue number from Mario Schwab. She also went all out with an embellished lace top and drapey pleated skirt. Slicking her hair back into a sleek high bun, Amanda's look was sleek, sophisticated, and decidedly non-OTT. Major props for originality!

Quvenzhane Wallis

Something you should probably know about Quvenzhane Wallis: the 9-year-old had NEVER acted professionally before landing the lead role of Hushpuppy in last year's Beasts of the Southern Wild. Yet in just mere months the New Orleans native has managed to become the youngest Best Actress Oscar nom....ever. She's also singlehandedly captured the hearts of Hollywood (no small feat!) with her cute smile, refreshingly uncensored interviews, and boatloads of personality. She dominated the red carpet tonight in a shimmery purple David Meister, right before cracking the audience up onstage. Kiernan Shipka, watch your back! (just kidding, you guys should totally be BFF!).

Nina Dobrev

Jennifer Lawrence wasn't the only one who chose to cut it out-literally- tonight in a peekaboo dress. Nina Dobrev also showed some skin in a glittery teal number by Monique Lhuillier. A dress as bold as this one requires minimal embellishment, so Nina kept things simple with no jewelry, a fresh-faced beauty look, and a long, swinging ponytail.

Aaaand, here we go: awards season is officially off and running! Who do you think looked the best at the Critics' Choice Awards tonight?
