Emma Stone always has THE best beauty game, so when Refinery29 sat down with the actress to talk all-things makeup we knew it was gonna be good. As it turns out, Emma, who also is the new face of Revlon, blew our MINDS with her beauty-related quotes, and now we love her even more (if that’s possible). We decided to pull out our 5 favorite things we learned from the interview because, um, there are some things that are just TOO good to not share. Spoiler alert: You’ll be smitten by Ms. Stone by the end. We promise.
.) Emma loves spray-tanning… to a point: “The last time I got spray-tanned was for the Golden Globes. And I was like, ’I love spray-tanning so much.’ I still really like it. But it definitely makes me look like I have leprosy, after a point.”
.) Emma is SUPER interested in skincare: “I’m vigilant about skin care across the board, both with sun and breakouts” […] “I had bad hormonal acne when I was 17, and they put me on Accutane for it. After two months on the Accutane, I went off of it, and since then, my skin, my mouth, my lips, my eyes are all so dry. Then, I had stress acne when I was 20, when I did Easy A, which they kindly video-airbrushed out of the movie. But I realized how debilitating and embarrassing it can be to have cystic acne. So, I’m really interested in the biology of what makes up acne and how to work on it from the outside, too.”
.) When it comes to beauty products, nothing is off-limits for Emma: “Well, I’m pretty slutty with products. So that’s part of the problem. I should work in a beauty department, because all I want to do is try whatever is happening.”
.) You can thank Emma’s “trio” for constantly creating her killer red carpet looks: “My trio is the reason that I’ve looked like a presentable human being in any circumstance. Petra Flannery is my stylist, who is the best-dressed woman alive, clearly. She’s never forced anything on me, but she’s brilliant. And Rachel Goodwin and Mara Roszak have done my makeup and hair for a long, long time. They work so well as a trio… I don’t know how helpful my suggestions are. I’m like, ’Today, we should wear lashes!’ and Rachel’s like, ’No, we’re not wearing lashes.'”
.) It’s ALL about the brows for Emma: “[Rachel, her makeup artist] always draws on a really strong eyebrow. And she sees my face completely differently than I see my face, so she does things that I’d never think of. I always feel like she makes my eyes look different, my brows look different… it’s really cool, to see her artistry.”
