Harry Styles got some new ink.

One Direction's Harry Styles may have JUST turned 18 this year, but that hasn't held him back from diving head-first into that tattoo game. Last month, he inadvertently revealed some new shoulder ink filming 1D's "Live While We're Young" music video, and he reportedly has a half-sleeve in the works. The latest ink update was discovered by One Direction's notoriously wily superfans and resurfaced by the UK's Daily Mail: tattoos on his left side of a bird cage, laughing and crying masks, and the acronym "SMCL" (or "SNCL," we can't really tell).
Looks like Rihanna isn't the only celeb going for an avian ink motif this year (*achem* her falcon and Isis tattoos), but Harry's iteration is slightly different. Rather than drawing up the feathers and flight associated with birds, he gets a cage permanently etched on his side. And not just that, it's accompanied by dramatic masks and a cryptic initialism all inked up close to his heart. Fans are speculating that the four letters could stand for "Smile More (or Now), Cry Later" or perhaps even Simon Cowell. We don't have answers either way, but let us know what else you think Harry's new ink could mean in the comments below!
