Her sister Dakota may have starred in Marc Jacobs’ “Oh Lola” ads last year, but now it’s the YOUNGER Fanning, Elle, who’s stealing the spotlight with a brand new perfume campaign of her own. The 14-year-old actress is the latest face of “Lolita Lempicka,” repping the French beauty brand’s classic fragrance. (Pause for a moment to contemplate just HOW similar these two perfume names are…coincidence?! We think not.) With her porcelain complexion, angelic features, and long golden hair, it’s no surprise Elle’s Virgin Suicides-esque good looks have seriously enchanted the fashion world…ahem, despite the fact that she’s not even old enough to have a driver’s license yet! Ever since her quirky-cool Marc by Marc Jacobs ads from last year, we’ve been anxiously waiting to see which big name brand would snatch Elle up next. Now that we’ve watched the gorgeously haunting fragrance film for “Lolita Lempicka,” let’s just say some things really are worth waiting for.
The clip was directed by acclaimed filmographer Yoann Lemoine, otherwise known as Woodkid, the guy behind music videos for Taylor Swift’s “Back to December,” Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” AND Lana Del Rey’s “Blue Jeans.” So basically, it doesn’t disappoint. Elle manages to cram about a zillion emotions into the 3-minute video, whether she’s running through the forest or bonding with a buck. But despite all of this action (spoiler alert: there are DIY antlers involved…), it’s the quiet, close-up shots of Elle that hit you hardest. Her barefaced look, unbrushed hair, and stripped-down beauty seem glamorous and natural, all at the same time. But don’t just take our word for it.
