Rihanna’s 2012 VMAs Style From Red Carpet To Stage

I’ll admit it. I was totally floored when Rihanna showed up at yesterday’s 2012 VMA rehearsals with REALLY short hair. (Maybe it has a little something to do with the fact that I haven’t changed my hairstyle in approximately eight years, but I digress…) Usually a drastic hair alteration isn’t something you want to risk debuting at a major public appearance, but we all know Rih is the Queen of IDGAF and can pull off literally anything she wants. Por ejemplo: this here red carpet to stage switcheroo!

Rihanna stepped out on the VMA double-decker red carpet in a gooooorgeous slinky white Adam Selman gown. Floor-length and backless, the dress was knotted in the front and elegantly highlighted Rih’s sassy new haircut. MAJOR Halle Berry vibes were felt. Enormous false lashes, a bright red lip, and delicate gem stud earrings finished off the look. When she hit the stage to open the show, she had completely transformed for her all-red-everything (save some black Jordans) performance look. Rih performed alongside A$AP Rocky for their remix of “Cockiness (Love It)” in a red bralette and a long red sheer dress worn over red wet-look pants. She accessorized the look with a GIANT Ankh cross bib necklace and patterned head scarf, and she switched out the red pout for a swipe of black lipstick.
