ZOMG, guys. Forgive us for the rampant abbreviations, capitalizations, and punctuations that are sure to follow because we’re finally able to publicly rejoice that A$AP Rocky is JOINING Rihanna on stage at the 2012 VMAs. (!!!!!!) That pretty mother–y’know is linking up with Rih for a special remix of “Cockiness (Love It)” (an MTV exclusive you can actually listen to RIGHT NOW), and, as if that weren’t enough, the powerhouse duo will open the show! *grips mouth to keep from squealing* We’ve already mused about what Rihanna will wear on stage, but now, we’re turning our focus to A$AP’s TBD performance togs, specifically his pants.

“Why pants?” you may be asking. WELL, oh Inquisitive One, we must remind you that Rocky wore some pricey pants to SXSW this year. The price tag was reportedly $1,000, to be specific, and he was willing to get into an all-out BRAWL in their defense. Given his love for expensive trousers, we rounded up a few options we think he might consider for his VMA debut. The first is a pair of distressed slim-fit biker jeans ($1,065) by Balmain. They’re just a little over a grand, we can see these working really well with his go-to graphic tee + minibraids + snapback steez.

We know Rick Owens is a favorite for the Harlem-rapper, and we love the fashion-forwardness of these printed cargo pants ($940). We won’t hold our breath that he’ll rock these, though, because it IS a little out-of-left-field for the dude. A girl can dream, though! Finally, these slim fit chinos ($415) are way below the thousand-dollar mark, but they’re by Rocky’s designer-bestie/video chat buddy Alexander Wang. That alone, we think, warrants that they stay in the running. What do you think A$AP Rocky will wear on stage at the VMAs?
