Between palling around with the Rodarte girls, holding MET talks with Iris Apfel, and setting her sights on Hollywood, Tavi Gevinson has certifiably wedged her way into more different creative circles than adults twice (or even three!) times her age would even dream of. Needless to say, she's got a lot on her plate. But for the new issue of The Wall Street Journal Magazine, the teenager is talking about a different kind of collab she's been cooking up- this time with This American Life host Ira Glass. The radio legend has served as an unlikely mentor for the Rookie editor for a while now, and here's proof: Tavi thanks him in the the magazine's debut issue, even referring to him as the "cool Dad." Um, awesome.

It might seem strange, given their major age disparity (Tavi just turned 16, and Glass is 53). Then again, let's be real: Tavi is an old soul if there ever was one, and turns out these two actually have a lot in common. The two share first impressions to WSJ, such as when Ira first met the highschooler several years ago; "She looked really tiny and really young, and she was still dressed like a little kid—this was before Tavi had decided she was going to dress "pretty," he recalls. Tavi herself jokes about Ira's initial impressions, saying how strange it must be for the radio show host to work with a girl who looks like "80-year-old granny wearing bag-lady layers." While her style may have changed a bit since then it's still just as unique as ever, repping floral skirts, prim button-ups, and saddle oxfords in the shoot.

Check it out in the article here and see first hand why these opposites really DO attract. Oh, and keep your eyes on Tavi. No telling where she'll pop up next, but our money's on world domination...and you know what? We're looking forward to it!
