The fashion world is a little (okay, maybe a lot) like high school. So what happens when VOGUE handpicks the most stylish, talented, and creative young ingenues out there today and splashes them across the pages of its new September issue? Yeah, it’s basically like a really, really chic version of the cool kids’ lunch table. But don’t worry, because we’ve got your ticket in with “The VOGUE 120.” According to the website, this is a list of “The Stylish Singers, Designers, Actors, Models, and More (Under 45) of the Moment,” and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. You can peep the entire portfolio in the issue now, but before you rush to the newsstand, check out our favorites here. Kristen Stewart leads the pack, posing with Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière and decked out in the French fashion house’s gorgeous futuristic wares. We love how her arm is draped casually over his shoulder, like they’ve been best buds forever (and shoot Balenciaga campaigns between shopping trips and coffee runs). SO.CUTE.

Thanks to her Hunger Games whirlwind red carpet tour, Jennifer Lawrence is a total fashion pro. Despite her style cred, though, (she even spawned a Calvin Klein “Katniss” dress!), the actress tells VOGUE “I wear a dress for one night on the red carpet, and that’s it.” This might be true, but leave it to Jen to take a questionable styling choice (a Michael Kors swimsuit under a Diesel leather jacket…huh?) and still make it work.

Florence Welch.

We’ve always secretly thought of Florence Welch as a new, cooler kind of fairy tale princess- one that favors darkly romantic dresses and slays the bad guys in the beginning of the movies. So we’re thrilled to see that VOGUE agrees, wrapping the U.K. musician up in luxe Gucci silk and Valentino lace. Even decked out in these high-fashion duds, Flo is still the free spirit we know and love, riding on a black horse and carrying the ultimate anti-princess accessory…a shiny, dangerous-looking sword.

Speaking of anti-princesses, there’s Rooney Mara, the actress whose badass turn in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo STILL haunts us to this day. She’s here with Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci, who’s (literally) lifting her up to fashion stardom. It’s true in real life, too- Rooney’s rocked Givenchy’s sleek, gothy designs to Dragon Tattoo press events, the 2012 Met Gala, and the Oscars. Well played, you two!
