Is there anything Tavi Gevinson can't do? Just this morning it was announced that the teenage blogger-turned-publishing-mogul will be adding another hyphen to her ever-growing list of pursuits: actress. In her recent Bust magazine cover story Tavi hinted that she might want to head to Los Angeles after high school to pursue cinema, but it sounded like directing was more what she had in mind. Turns out that her first turn around the big screen will be in front of the camera though, with a starring role in Nicole Holofcener's new film, alongside Toni Colette, Catherine Keener and other Hollywood heavyweights. Tavi has also signed with talent agency UTA, which makes us think this isn't going to be her only movie gig. The silver screen may be calling, but Tavi has also been a star of the small (online) screen for a little while now. Most recently, Tavi starred in Wren's FW 2012 lookbook video, not just modeling the classic duds but also singing and playing guitar!
The video reminds us a bit of Sofia Coppola's The Virgin Suicides, with a moody chill that makes us want to bundle up in cute little red jackets, thick tights and luxe dresses. Designer Melissa Coker's clothes take us back to the canyons of Los Angeles (which is where the clothing company is based), while still looking like they'd be right at home in an urban environment. Vocally, Tavi possesses a unique sound, with a strong, airy lower register, and light vibrato that doesn't really remind us of anyone in particular, which is a good thing. Is there anything this girl can't do?! Watch the video here:
