Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning are both certified style stars in their own right, but when you throw two of Hollywood’s coolest new ingenues together on a movie set…well, you know it’s gonna be interesting. The twosome have been running around Manhattan and Brooklyn all summer long filming their new drama Very Good Girls, and we’ve finally caught a couple of glimpses of their on-set style. We’re used to seeing the duo repping big-name designers like Marc Jacobs, Valentino and Lanvin on the red carpet and fronting major ad campaigns (Dakota, we’re looking at you…), but for their new coming-of-age flick, they kept things casual in complementary summertime duds. We’re talking about stuff we all have in our own closets, like denim cut-offs, t-shirts, and sneakers from brands like ASOS, Superga. Not to mention, enough thrifted pieces to stock their own vintage store.

The film centers around two high school best friends who make a pact to lose their virginity before they start college in the fall. Besides sharing the same taste in dudes (they both fall hard for a graffiti artist, played by Boyd Holbrook), the two characters have similar personal style, as well. In the top photo they’re both wearing denim shorts with cotton tops on a bike trip to the beach, and above they’ve both paired green shorts with sleeveless blouses. And although Elizabeth’s sporting eclectic touches like Navajo prints and head scarves to showcase her character’s freespirited side, you know what they say- when you spend enough time with someone, your style is BOUND to rub off. Does that mean that she and Dakota will start channeling similar fash vibes off-set, too? Stay tuned…
