We usually prefer not to comment on rumors, but last month when we heard Lana Del Rey had signed a contract to be the new face of H&M, we just HAD to say SOMETHING. Well, turns out it was true!! Lana will be the face of the fall campaign, and will also appear in the company’s holiday advertisements. In the first image from the campaign (above), Lana poses coyly in a peach colored sweater and matching pants. We love this textured take on monochrome *takes out notebook and jots down ideas,* and her stiletto nails are to die for. We’re also glad to see that Lana’s ever-growing hair shows no sign that it’s going to deflate any time soon. Sources say that the campaign will also include a TV spot, and a cover of “Blue Velvet.” Amazing.
Vogue U.K. has the inside scoop from H&M’s PR rep: “We were looking for a style icon and singer to model our autumn/winter 2012-13 collection and Lana Del Rey was the perfect choice,” Chloe Bowers said, adding, “we think she shows our fall fashion in a very inspiring way. The theme of the campaign is a modern and feminine woman with a soft attitude. Curves and waist are important in autumn’s silhouette.” We can’t wait to check out more of Lana’s modeling chops in the rest of the photos!
