We want these limited edition Chucks, bad.

Coming on the heels (heh) of the announcement that Big Boi will be designing a line of socks, Converse announced today that they will be partnering with french electronic band M83 on limited edition Chuck Taylor All Stars AND a poster contest. The kicks, which we’re literally drooling over (Paired with a floral dress on a hot day! With some jean shorts!) right now, are white high tops awash in dots like tiny stars, with ’M83′ scrawled constellation-diagram style on the side. What really sets these off for us, though, are the black laces, perfect. We’ve been dancing to “Midnight City” all summer, but we didn’t realize we were wearing the wrong shoes. Also, not to bring EVERYTHING back to Katy Perry, but the singer featured M83’s tune in Katy Perry: Part of Me, after becoming a fan of the band while at Coachella. We’re not surprised, as it makes sense that the larger-than-life Perry would totally dig the songs on the band’s most recent album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.

As we mentioned earlier, this isn’t your average fancy limited edition sneaker release: Converse and M83 are also holding a contest, looking for drawings, paintings, and photography inspired by Hurry Up to include on posters that will be revealed at the band’s August 8th show at Central Park Summerstage in New York City. You can read the full rules on the Converse site. The company also made a video to support the competition, which you can watch right below. The posters will be used for charity.
