10 Milan Spring 2013 Men’s Fashion Week Looks We Want To Borrow From The Boys

Maybe it’s true that ready-to-wear women’s fashions get a whopping eight weeks (that’s two months, if you’re counting) out of the year devoted to them. And that only semi-annually do their male counterparts enjoy an extra-special, 100% dedicated Fashion Week of their own – one in June and another in January. Maybe it’s true that we are built biologically differently, and therefore, need different cuts and silhouettes to put together figure-flattering outfits. But let’s face it, we’re selfish. And the togs trotting down these Milan Spring 2013 Men’s Fashion Week runways are just too good to ignore. Thus, here are our favorite looks from the past week that we want to borrow from the boys. Hey, if swiping dudes’ styles is good enough for Alexa Chung, better BUH-LIEVE it’s good enough for us!

MOSCHINO

What do you even SAY about this?? We’re dying over this Moschino shirt and shorts combo. The tiled “FRESH” and vaguely Budweiser reminiscient label pattern is nothing like we’ve ever seen before – combining not only our love for mixed prints but ALSO the patriotic color palette is so up our Americana-loving alley. Who knew we’d be head over heels for supermarket chic?

BURBERRY PRORSUM

As soon as this handkerchief print Burberry Prorsum car coat hits sales racks, we will be first in line to buy it. LOOK at this thing! With the muted plums and taupes. The very unisex abstract pattern. This coat is guaranteed to go with everythinggggg.

DSQUARED2

There’s no reason why boys should be the only ones to enjoy this industrial gold necklace by Dsquared2. Modeled after a bike chain, the bib is made up of many tiny padlocks. It’d be a wardrobe staple in our closet, for sure.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD

We’re really into the Keith Haring undertones of this Vivienne Westwood sweater, but it’s the mixture of graffiti elements with subtle panels of geometric and floral prints that really win us over. Also, the pairing with those cobalt trousers. Nomnomnomnomnommmm.

LOUIS VUITTON

This all-grey Louis Vuitton outfit is great on its own, but it’s that NEON highlighter yellow weekender the model is toting along with it that we can’t stop thinking about. Not quite a backpack, not exactly a satchel, we would carry this thing everywhere!

VERSACE

This graphic-striped tunic is CUH-LASSIC Versace. We can’t decide whether we would wear it cinched across the waist, possibly with a solid gold belt, OR let it hang over-sized over a pair of liquid leggings or leather skinnies. Either way, we WANT this.

DIESEL BLACK GOLD

These Diesel Black Gold frames are pretty much everything. They’re a beautiful hybrid of vintage Rayban clubmaster and clip-on styles with the addition of a totally unexpected filigree overlay that gives us an oddly charming Cape Cod meets Willy Wonka vibe. We’ll take three!

FRANKIE MORELLO

Varsity jackets were all over the men’s runways this season. You can be sure we’ll be picking one up very soon, but we’re not sure if we can suspend our lust for this snakeskin panelled number by Frankie Morello long enough to cop a lady-version of our own.

MISSONI

The MTV Style staff made a unianimous decision that we HAVE to have this entire Missoni look. The soft neutral ringer tee with a pocket? The kilim printed shorts? The bohemian tote? This is the PERFECT summer weekend outfit, and we need it (and multiple iterations, if possible) in our closets.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO

I mean, hi. You can’t tell us that you haven’t also fallen madly in love with this head-turning jacket from the Spring 2013 Salvatore Ferragamo men’s show. The electric coral set against the sapphire contrast piping is almost (almost) too much for our little mortal hearts to bear.

Which looks from Milan Spring 2013 Men’s Fashion Week would you MOST want to borrow from the boys?
