Good style doesn't have an age requirement- or an age limit, for that matter- and here's proof: two of the coolest minds in the biz, Rookie Mag's Tavi Gevinson and fashion icon Iris Apfel, will hold a discussion this weekend at New York's Metropolitan Museum titled “Good

Taste/Bad Taste: The Evolution of Contemporary Chic." Could there BE a more perfect topic for these two to hash out? We definitely don't think so. Even though she's only 15, Tavi's been in the fashion industry for what seems like forever, ever since starting her blog The Style Rookie at age 11. And although she's focusing more of her attention on her new online magazine (and high school, NBD), the Illinois teenager has still been busy making her voice heard online and in person, whether it's appearing in fashion films, starring in Uniqlo ads, or popping up at Fashion Week. Despite her 70-plus year age difference with Iris, this odd couple has more in common than you'd think.

It should go without saying that businesswoman-turned-bonafide style icon Iris Apfel has picked up a thing or two about good taste over the years. The 90-year-old New Yorker has shared her wisdom in the Advanced Style doc, as well as giving the masses (read: us) a taste of her amazingly quirky style with her own line of eyewear, based on her signature round specs, and a collab with MAC makeup. You can bet that when these fashion forces collide this weekend, it's going to be an explosion of creative brilliance. The event is hosted by the Costume Institute-yep, those same people who throw the Met Gala each year- and will be moderated by New Yorker writer Judith Thurman, who also wrote the introduction to the catalog to the newest exhibition, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. And although we can't predict what the twosome will talk about, we DO know that it's going to entertaining, informative, and a new kind of fashion school we can't wait to attend.

Not in New York? Don't worry, our editors will be at the discussion and will give you all the deets on what goes down on Sunday. In the meantime, learn more about the event here!
