A look from Maison Martin Margiela's Fall/Winter 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection.
We know it's rude to spread rumors, but when there's news this good, it's really hard to resist a little bit of office gossip. Our whisper voices were nearly all worn out yesterday from speculating about whether or not the H&M x Maison Martin Margiela collab was a real thing or not, and luckily for us (and our vocal chords, whispering is hard!), we found out this morning that it's true!! The capsule collection will debut in stores AND ONLINE, according to the official release, on November 14th, 2012. We're insanely excited not to have to camp out on 5th avenue, and it's cold in November! H&M released two videos to celebrate the announcement of the collaboration, featuring sketches of both the men's and womenswear lines. Check them out, along with a statement from the Margiela, after the jump.
In a statement from the elusive and cutting-edge fashion house, Maison Martin Margiela said, “We are very happy to present MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA pieces with H&M, offering a new interpretation of our vision. The democracy of our fashion has always been at the centre of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all.” Although we're not counting on those all-over hair jackets being adapted for the masses, we cannot wait to get our hands on some of the looks that are sure to come.
