The Best Dressed Of The 2012 MTV Movie Awards

You followed diligently along with us as we live blogged the 2012 MTV Movie Awards red carpet. You watched with us as Special Style Correspondent Kat Graham chatted up the young Hollywood hotties. You gasped with us as Teen Wolf's Holland Roden took our breath away on the step-and-repeat. You even let out a hefty "AWW!" with us as Kristen Stewart switched out of her Loubous and into a trusty pair of Converse kicks. Now comes the hour of the night when we sort through the red carpet finery via a flurry of Post-It notes and Sour Patch Kids, and siphon them into our official Best Dressed list. Heeeeere we go!

EMMA STONE IN MARTIN GRANT

After that tear-jerking Trailblazer Award acceptance speech, how could you NOT love Emma Stone? On top of being a classy lady and amazing human specimen, The Amazing Spider-Man starlette also has GUH-REAT style to boot! She squeaked by in the last seconds of the red carpet, just in time for us to gaze at this gorgeous Martin Grant cocktail frock. The dress featured a structured black peplum bodice which sat crisply on top of a voluminous putty-hued balloon skirt and matching pumps with itsy bitsy ankle straps. Emma finished off her look with an effortless updo, minimal eye makeup and a punchy hot pink lip.

HOLLAND RODEN IN MANDALAY

Helloooooo, Holland Roden! The red-haired Teen Wolf vixen has captured our fashion-loving hearts by killing the retro glamour game from event to event. She disappointed no one in this scarlet Mandalay bodycon mini-dress with a subtle but sexy sheer overlay and delicate cap sleeves. For beauty, Holland went straight-up Veronica Lake with side-swept curls and a bold red pout. VERY Jessica Rabbit.

SHAILENE WOODLEY IN STELLA MCCARTNEY

Shailene Woodley is one stylette we can always count on to push the sartorial envelope. We totally applaud The Descendants star for capitalizing on the menswear trend with this double-breasted, halter-neck low-cut vest and tailored trouser set by Stella McCartney. Also, we love the simple strapped sandals and "no makeup" makeup look. Effortless chic.

JULIA JONES IN JOY CIOCI

Twilight's Julia Jones just might win for "Most Head-Turning Ensemble" in this neon yellow Joy Cioci dress. With its structured silhouette, ladylike peplum, and bananas lasercut detailing, this frock is a smorgasbord of hot HOT summer trends and had the entire MTV Style crew suffering staggered fainting spells within moments of hitting the carpet. #A-MAHZE-ING

CHARLIZE THERON IN LANVIN

Will Charlize Theron ever show up to an awards show and not automatically be the smokin'est fox in attendance? We won't pretend to be fortune tellers, but we can say from past evidence, it doesn't look like she's slowing down the hotness mobile anytime soon. The Snow White and the Huntsman actress smoldered on the Movie Awards step-and-repeat in this knee-length, red Lanvin number. She kept things easy with fresh peachy cheeks, a loose shoulder-length hairstyle, and discrete accessories, letting the dress's vibrant hue and show-stopping peplum take center stage.

CRYSTAL REED IN ISSA

Along with her co-star Holland Roden, Teen Wolf leading lady Crystal Reed really turned it out in this lovely Issa dress. The capped sleeves, A-line skirt, and conservative neckline all skew modest 50's retro, but the unexpected metallic turquoise base with brown embroidery, messy updo, and platform curved heel Walter Steiger booties bring the ensemble to the 21st century.

EMMA WATSON IN BROOD

We had been WAITING for someone to bring the sporty trend to the red carpet and thus, were THRILLED to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower star Emma Watson in this surf-inspired mini-dress by emerging NYC designer Brood. We love the way the abstract purple print reminds us of rippling water and the way her chunky black accessories and shoes echoed the black piping of her dress.

NIKKI REED IN RANDI RAHM

It's safe to say that the entire MTV Style team is OB. SESSED. with Nikki Reed's glittering gold Randi Rahm dress. The Twilight actress was a vision of updated Old Hollywood glamour with her roaring '20s-channelling straight silhouette shift with sheets of gold beading and a loosely styled updo.

CHRISTINA RICCI IN CHRISTIAN SIRIANO FOR TIMEX

The award for most inventive ensemble HAS to go to Miss Christina Ricci and her Christian Siriano for Timex cocktail frock. "A red carpet dress by Timex??" you ask. Yes. We'll get into it in more detail later, but the talented Mr. Siriano (last year's Movie Awards Red Carpet Fashion Correspondent *brushes shoulders off*) designed this dress with dozens of working Timex watches hand-sewn throughout the entire bodice. YOWZA.

KRISTEN STEWART IN GUISHEM

And then there's Kristen Stewart. The Twilight/Snow White and the Huntsman box office heavy-hitter is a stylette we ALWAYS look forward to blowing us away come show night. Last year's safety pin-laden Balmain is a look that will live forever in our mental catalog of Favorite Outfits of All Time, so naturally, we were on the edge of our seats with anticipation for this year's red carpet frock. Though no safety pin dress, this metallic Guishem is still mind-bogglingly covetable. The geometric panels, the bold pops of yellow and purple, the summer-ready muted silver. The sum and total of it all is a 100% WANT from her tousled waves to her heavy copper eyeshadow to her black pointy pumps. Well played, K.Stew.
