Last night’s season finale of The Voice was bursting with excitement, from the two-song return of Jamar Rogers to the triumphant crowning of Jermaine Paul as the Season 2 winner. Adding fuel to the fire, Justin Bieber made The Voice his vehicle of choice for the hotly anticipated premier live performance of “Boyfriend.” The Biebs spared not a single swaggy detail for the live debut of the ear-wormy first single off his forthcoming sophomore album, Believe, elevating the collective blood pressure of ladybabies (and grown ladies alike) across the country with his smooth dance moves, a bit of bad boy steez, and (as always) notable attention to grooming.

For the live performance of “Boyfriend,” it appears Bieber aimed to recreate much of the feeling of the song’s music video. From hints within the choreography (handsy girl dancers in the beginning and swoon-worthy fluid footwork) to outfit chromatics, much winked back at the video but was amplified to properly translate on stage. The Supra Skytop II kicks may have stayed the same, but that Band of Outsiders letterman jacket was traded in for a thicker, tougher, black denim jacket with leather sleeves and GOBS of gold studs covering the entire yoke (save the shoulder space inhabited by two metallic epaulettes).

The show-stopping outerwear was worn over a simple black v-neck and slim fitting leather pants with subtle gold tuxedo stripes. The look was finished off with the newest iteration of “Bieber hair”: a side-swooped, less gelled style than we’ve seen lately but one that still moved (or rather, didn’t) as a seemingly autonomous unit. What did you think of Justin Bieber’s debut “Boyfriend” performance outfit on The Voice?
