You could really do some damage with that thing, but that’s not what it’s for.

If there was a tough pop star contest, well, it would be really short, because there’s no question that Rihanna would win. It’s no surprise, therefore, that the singer would find the most hard-as-nails case to protect her iPhone from drops and fumbles and really, really cool. The case, which is made, appropriately, by Knucklecase (and retails for a cool $99) is part fashion accessory, part technical equipment–the design allows someone like Rihanna, who is being assaulted by a barrage of long lenses and flash bulbs all the time, to keep a firm grip on her phone through the scrum, and to focus on either looking fly for the cameras or getting herself the heck outta there.
Story has it that Rihanna actually got the case from one of the pushy paps, who handed it over when RiRi saw him holding it and admired its aluminum sheen. The paparazzi aren’t all bad, we guess. It’s important that we mention, though, that the case is in no way intended to be used as a weapon. Despite the company’s use of language like “knockout accessory” and “looks to kill,” the Knucklecase is very much just a slick looking iPhone handle, and is not to be used for personal protection, fighting, or any of that violent stuff that you Stylettes shouldn’t be doing anyway. What do you think of Rihanna’s killer accessory? Would you rock the Knucklecase?
