Prom Beauty Looks For Every Type Of Girl

By now, you should have almoosstt everything figured out for prom night. From the dress to the hair to the nails to the shoes (whew!), we’ve got you covered across all bases. We can’t forget the most important part, though—your face! Lucky for you, we have tons of celeb-inspired makeup looks that we think would be PERFECT no matter what type of girl you are—punk rock, super glam, or totally natural! Let’s check out our favorite looks, shall we?

If you’re the type of gal who rocks a killer beauty game on a daily basis, the ultra-glam look inspired by Taylor Swift might be right up your alley. She pairs a bold red pout with long, flirty lashes and porcelain skin. To recreate this look, opt for the best lipstick in the biz with YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture in Le Rouge ($32). For those ultra glam eyes, go for silver-y metallic eye palette like Lorac’s Evening Star shimmery eyeshadow trio ($26) paired with super long, dramatic false eyelashes from Sephora ($8) and Stila’s All Day liquid eye liner ($20) for that killer cat eye. (We use this sucker EVERY DAY to get our winged tips to pointed perfection!)

If you’re a daring girl who wants to be ANYTHING but boring on her big day, follow Kat Graham’s lead and go for a punch of color around the peepers. Recreating this standout look is a cinch: start with a Ulta’s silky eyeshadow in Aztec Gold ($3) and concentrate the color on the outer corner of the eyes like Kat. Then, grab an intense, smudge-proof shimmery eyeliner like Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Eyes in Metallica Royal Blue ($18) and finish it off with a few coats of Benefit’s BADgal mascara ($19) for incredibly thick lashes. Since the eyes are stealing the show, Kat kept the rest of her look mostly neutral by sporting just a swipe of bronzer (we prefer YSL’s Terre Saharienne natural sun-kissed look in Copper Sand [$50]) and a glossy nude lipstick like Kat Von D’s Painted Love stick in Mod Peachy Pink ($19).

If you want to make a stunning entrance à la Evan Rachel Wood, go for an all-out ’60s-inspired vintage vixen look with bold eyes and a pale pink lip. Start with a matte white color for the lids like Make Up For Ever’s eyeshadow in Matte Ivory Eggshell ($20) and use a waterproof eyeliner like Urban Decay’s eye pencil in Perversion ($19) to trace a line just below the brow bone, then across the top of the lid into a strong cat eye, and below the eye with a soft line extending toward the outer rims of your peepers. Then, take Tarina Tarantino’s shimmery white eyeliner ($16) and drag it across your lower waterline to make your eyes POP. Finish the look with some full Laura Mercier lashes ($18) and a swipe of Dior’s rich black Diorshow mascara ($25). Add a non-shiny lipstick like Nars’ Pure Matte Lipstick in Rose Pink ($25) to pull the whole look together, and voilà! You’re a mod ’60s beauty queen.

Emma Watson at the ’My Week With Marilyn’ premiere on Nov. 20.

If you don’t wear much makeup on the daily, don’t fret! We’ve got a fresh-faced beauty look inspired by Emma Watson that looks natural with a hint of subtle sweetness. To start, play up those brows with a creamy Lorac pencil ($20), and don’t be afraid to go bold! For her eyes, she only sported a swipe of light pink shadow like NYX’s iridescent eyeshadow in Aloha! ($5) and few thick layers of Benefit’s They’re Real! mascara ($22). (Psst: We’ve tested this mascara out, and we ACTUALLY had someone ask if we were wearing fake eyelashes. Amazing!) To add some color, swipe on some of MAC’s “Tres Cheek” bright pink powder in Full of Joy ($20) and a touch of extra shiny Bobbi Brown Brightening lip gloss in Pink Opal ($23).
