By now, we’ve all become very accustom to Lady Gaga’s unique brand of style theatrics. Phrases and images like “The Meat Dress” and The Dildo Shoe” have become vernacular mainstays thanks to this lady. It’s even to the point where when “hair bow” and her name are spoken in the same breath, it’s pointedly obvious that you’re talking about hair styled into the shape of a bow and not an actual fabric bow meant to adorn hair. It seems, though, that not everyone is as smitten with Gaga’s tonsorial pioneering (or ANY hair experimentation, for that matter), as four-year-old Marcella Marino was banned from her school photo because of her head-turning hair bow.

At Marcella’s school, braids are against the school dress code and any hair bands or ribbons must be made of dark maroon, navy, or black fabrics. Marcella’s father, Marcello Marino, said of the hairstyle, “It isn’t a hair braid, it is quite simply a knot in the shape of a bow, and I should know because I’m a hairdresser.” That’s right, ladies and gents. Marcella’s DAD whipped up this special ’do, which makes us double sadface, mostly because as kids, the only times our dads made explicit contact with our hair was while giving us noogies.
