Katy Perry channeled her inner bad ass in an army-ready ensemble while performing "Part of Me" on American Idol last night, and we were PLEASANTLY surprised to see the singer donning a no-frills outfit. (As our Editorial Assistant Gaby Wilson would say, "Mama like!") We were just starting to get tired of the whole pink hair/cupcake/candy EVERYTHING EVER outfits, but she recently dyed her hair dark purple, added on some extensions, and has been sporting THE most goth ensembles as of late. We're liking where Katy's fashion is going these days, and her stage outfit last night makes us think that we-may-possibly-for-the-first-time-ever like camo shorts.
Her not-too-short shorts are actually lined with black studs around the trim of the pockets, which she paired with a green utility belt. She femmed-up her olive green tank with some matching studs around the neck and sleeve and strapped on a killer harness. (SO on trend right now. Seriously). She finished the look with some fishnets, fingerless gloves, and green socks tucked into combat boots. She left her cascading violet locks down and just twisted back two sections to keep the hair out of her face. She also sported a smoky eye with a burgundy lip and some of the best brows in the biz. KP also wore a camo ensemble in her "Part of Me" video, but, um, we're liking her hair much better this time around. What do you think--could you ever sport camo shorts like Katy?
