New Girl Zooey Deschanel has a new look! The sitcom star ditched her typically-twee bright outfits for edgier, darker ensembles in Marie Claire’s May issue, and we like it. I mean, we’re practically goth, AND we live in New York City so we have a huge soft spot for all-black ensembles, but seriously, we’re loving the more mysterious side of Zooey. Instead of sporting her signature soft waves and crimson red lips, she tousled up her jet black hair and wore smudgy smokey eyes for a rock’n’roll-meets-mod bedhead vibe we CANNOT deny. For her ensemble, she donned a body-conscious shimmery beaded Hervé Léger by Max Azria shift dress with black tights, studded Valentino Garavani ankle boots, and a thick silver chain choker (which are actually bracelets worn as a necklace!). We never thought we’d see the day that our ol’ Zooey decided to go goth, but we are sooo on-board.

For the cover, Ms. Deschanel showed off her killer black eyeshadow paired with a nude lip and windblown hair. She donned a backless white Gucci halter dress with a gold and green waistband and a long platinum and diamond tassel necklace for an extra touch of glam. Though she looks gorge on the cover, some of our favorite looks are inside the mag, including Zooey in a fishnet mask (!!!) and rocking an amaze Theyskens’ Theory black bodysuit. Yeahhhh. I know.
