Inside Odd Future's New York Golf Wang Pop-Up Shop

Now is a great time to be part of Odd Future. From last night's Adult Swim premiere of Loiter Squad (a kind of Tom Green-reminiscent sketch comedy show co-produced by the Jackass team) to their happy reunion with long-lost member Earl Sweatshirt, the OF crew is pretty much killing it at life right now. On top of all this, the group has just released its newest mixtape, The OF Tape, Vol. 2, and are smack-dab in the middle of a 12-city North American tour—and opening up a new Golf Wang pop-up shop at every stop.

Last Tuesday, Tyler and the crew christened the Lower East Side's Reed Space for OFWGKTA, drawing in an enormous crowd for their self-proclaimed "stupid shirts." Fans lined up, swarming the sidewalks of Orchard Street for a glimpse of Hodgy, Taco, et. al., and a chance to get their hands on the limited Golf Wang pieces that aren't available online. The LA hip-hop group moved a LOT of merchandise, but in order for the shop to stay open until the end of the month as expected, there must still be something left, right? We investigated.

Though nowhere near the massive takeover it was early last week, the Golf Wang pop-up now resides pretty exclusively in the Reed Annex, but isn't post-apocalyptic by any means. They may be out of Jasper Dolphin jerseys and cat pocket tees, but there are still some great items left up for grabs (and plenty of Shark Cat to go around). There's definitely enough merchandise left to feel overwhelmed by the options (you just aren't guaranteed to find something in your size). T-shirts with images of Baby Hodgy in a dashiki, a Jasper Dolphin crewneck proclaiming love for Miley Cyrus, ripstop coach jackets, and at least one Frank Ocean tour tank were all still available last time we checked. The cat-print button-ups were all nabbed up, but you can still cop a hot-air balloon shirt or one in a way on-trend cloud print. When we were shopping this weekend, there were still two pairs of Golf Wang jeans with Tron Cat embroidered on the five pockets, a few boxcutter snapbacks, and a lone box of donut wheels, but the longer you wait, the slimmer those options get!
