Grimes, Iggy Azalea, And SSION Sport Swatches For ‘V’

So Swatch is pitting magazines against one another with their latest campaign for their New Gent Lacquered watches. Instead of shooting a set of ads themselves, they’re running a contest in which they’ve rounded up some of the coolest glossies on the globe to help them track down “the world’s most stylish and inspirational street,” and YOU can help them pick the winner. Major incentive?: The mag that wins will throw a MAY-JOR street party come June. In the running for the crown is V magazine, repping the artist-teeming East Village in New York City, and for its competitive advertorial, V has elicited the help of three of our favorite emerging musicians: Grimes, Iggy Azalea, and SSION.

Photographed by Tyrone LeBon and styled by Anna Trevelyan, the shoot embodies all things weird and wonderful about the home of Trash and Vaudeville and former stomping ground of The Ramones, Blondie, and Sonic Youth. Boundless color palettes, mixed inspirations, graffiti meets Frida Kahlo, technicolor hair, the clashing of childish and more “adult” influences, and so much creative ENERGY.
