We’re pretty sure we weren’t the only ones whose hearts broke into a million pieces when we found out Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were selling backpacks that cost a cool $39,000 (guys, this actually happened). Having professed our undying love for the Olsen twins since they ran around on the set of Full House in pigtails, we were distraught by the reality that we would never get our hands on an accessory designed by the super cool sisters with that kind of price tag. We got the chance to peruse their Elizabeth and James offerings and the more affordable items from The Row, but nothing quite tops our latest retail discovery: sunglasses designed by The Olsen twins for JCPenney’s Olsenboye collection priced at a mere 15 bucks. SQUEAL!
To our delight, the shades LOOK like they cost thousands more. They’re trendy and yet so timelessly chic that we’re fairly certain Mary Kate and Ashley would wear them to shield their eyes from the paparazzi while making daily Starbucks runs. The glasses come in a spectacular floral pattern that just so happens to be the print du jour this season. There are a pair of cat-eye sunglasses we could SO see Rihanna putting over a rice cake and sending out via Instagram. We spotted a dark green rimmed pair of shades that obviously scream “chic on St. Patrick’s Day.” And last but certainly not least, feast your eyes on the round-framed sunglasses which completely resemble the shades Queen Beyonce wore to carry heiress to the throne, Princess Blue Ivy, around New York City. GAG! And get this: both those round-framed sunglasses are made by the SAME designer (Bey’s are by The Row). VIRTUAL BACK FLIP.
