Sure, sure. These days it seems like every celeb is releasing a signature scent. I mean, just last week Maroon 5's Adam Levine announced he was doing a perfume line, AND Madonna released her much-anticipated Truth or Dare scent. But finding smaller indie bands to jump on the fragrance bandwagon is a little harder to come by, which is why we were SO stoked when we found out that Portland-based band YACHT would be making their perfume debut! The eclectic electronic duo Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans collaborated with tiny fragrance company OLO to create Shangri-La, a scent named after their most recent album release.
So, what does it smell like? "Very good," according to the band's blog. YACHT describes the scent as a "brooding, unisex, smoky fragrance, combining romantic top notes of jasmine, vetiver, ylang yang, and hiba wood, with a base of hazy cade, sumac, peruvian balsam, and siam wood. The result hovers in the air like a change in the weather, like flower offerings smashed recklessly on the ground in a temple on fire. It unfolds quietly, moving softly from the bright floral tones to its own dark underbelly. It’s for everyone." OK, then! We're officially convinced. The fragrance comes in two sizes—a 5 ml roll-on and a 1 ml vial. To purchase, head on over here, but hurry! It's a limited-edition fragrance, so once it's gone, it's gone. Also, if you haven't checked out YACHT's music yet, do yourself a favor and give it a little listen. You can thank us later.
