Selena Gomez got inked up with a wrist tattoo last week, and we preeeeetty much flipped our ish. Not in, like, a bad way. The girl is 19 now and more than allowed to get some permanent body art. She could get a full SLEEVE if she wanted to! We're just intrigued, and frankly a little excited, that between the ink and the punky blue and purple hair, the squeaky clean Alex Russo of Wizards of Waverly Place is notably toughening up her image. We had originally reported that Sel went under the gun for a tiny black heart, but Selena told Access Hollywood at the Women in Film Pre-Oscar party on Friday night that she was actually drawn up with an itsy bitsy music note!

We're still waiting on pictures of the actual tat (*achem* Twitpic it, or it didn't happen!), but Sel did open up to Access Hollywood about the meaning behind her art of choice: "Everybody thought that it was a heart for some reason, but music is a big influence in my life. I was named after a singer, I'm a singer, and a lot of other personal reasons, so, that's what I got." Added bonus? The "Hit the Lights" singer talked a little about her wave-making new jewelry: that diamond "J" ring from boyfriend Justin Bieber. On the rumors about whether this means a trip down the aisle is in the near future for Selieber, she said, "No, no—that's like almost a friendship ring. It's just for fun." *side eye* We totally believe that the happy couple isn't thinking about tying the knot any time soon, but "friendship ring," Selena? Come on now. Mama didn't raise no fool. This picture from last year's Vanity Fair Oscar Party illustrates a relationship that is decidedly more than "Just Friends."
